SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 5/8". NSN (# 20060 on barrels & buttplate). The Damascus pattern 30" barrels have Suhl, Germany Nitro proofs, bottom swivel, platinum band at breech & steel bead. Rib has silver inlaid maker's mark. Chokes appear to measure Full & Imp. Mod. Round bodied, back action locks with floral scroll engraving highlight game scenes: mallards on left side receiver, doe & roebuck right side receiver, pointer right side lock, & pigeon & fox left side lock. Aciton features rebounding hammers & dbl. triggers. Ornate horn finger curl triggerguard. Checkered wedge fastened forearm. Straight grip checkered walnut stock w/ Bavarian cheekpiece, sling swivel & steel buttplate. WEIGHT: 6 lbs., 7 oz. CONDITION: barrels show good damascus pattern showing faded brown finish along with oxidation. Gray appearing receiver shows oxidation along breech face, scattered spots of varnish & patina. Worn original wood finish showing numerous sm. gouges, dings & handling marks; top of comb near buttplate shows heavy filing. Bores show pitting throughout. (26-1973/MD). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
